The Sunny Boy represents the next step in performance for UL certified inverters. Its transformerless design means high efficiency and reduced weight. Maximum power production is derived from wide input voltage and operating temperature ranges. Multiple MPP trackers and OptiTrac™ Global Peak mitigate the effect of shade and allow for installation at challenging sites. The unique Secure Power Supply feature provides daytime power in the event of a grid outage. High performance, flexible design and innovative features make the Sunny Boy TL-US series the first choice among solar professionals.
Requires 12, 13 or 14 solar panels wired in series to achieve minimum start voltage. The Sunny Boy inverter should be mounted in the middle of a ground mount array. Unlike the Sunny Island, which must be kept inside, the Sunny Boy inverter is outdoor rated. The Sunny Boy inverter comes with an integrated disconnect. You will wire each row of panels in series and connect the ends back to the the Sunny Boy combiner box / disconnect. You will only need 4 long PV wires to connect the ends of the panels back to the combiner. We have to use PV wire that has an MC4 connector (standard for a solar panel). If you cut off the connectors, you void the panel warranty. We take 4 very long wires, with male and female MC4 connectors on each end, stretch the cable in half and cut the cable in the middle. This leaves us with the MC4 connection for the solar panel, and an open end of the cable to land in the combiner.
Over a century ago, Thomas Edison found a battery design that he considered to be nearly perfect. Today, Iron Edison is proud to offer an updated version of this incredible design that is specifically manufactured for Renewable Energy systems.
Iron Edison now offers a full line of solar panels, charge controllers, inverters and more!

A brighter future. Off the grid. Iron Edison battery systems can be used for 12, 24 and 48 volt applications. We can also help you optimize battery capacity to take better advantage of the solar, wind and other hardware you may already have in place.
