This Magnum AC-coupled battery backup kit charges the battery from an Enphase grid-tied solar array.
The Iron Edison Lithium battery backup system will perform for years, and requires no maintenance.
The battery remains charged and ready to go the moment the grid goes down. In off-grid mode, the Magnum controls the Enphase array using frequency shifting to halt solar production. We use a heat dump as a backup to the frequency shift. The C-Series charge controller is used as a diversion controller, specifically designed to allow for continued solar PV production as long as the sun is shining.
This kit is great because it allows you to retrofit your grid-tied system and keep the lights on when the grid goes down.
